Accounts and the Pro trial

Every account opens with 14 days of Pro. No card is required. You get every Pro feature from the first day, so you can judge the paid tier by riding with it rather than by reading about it. When the 14 days end the account continues as Free instead of closing, which means nothing you built is deleted.

The three steps#

1. Open inviagps.com and create a free account, because the account is what holds your routes, collections and waypoints. How sign-in works.
2. Draw a route on the map. Auto mode picks the routing for each segment, forest road, trail, or open ground, so you do not have to choose a surface by hand.
3. Send the route to your GPS from the browser, or export a standard GPX file so another app can take it instead.

What Free includes#

Free covers route building, storage and a connected device. That is enough to plan a ride and load it onto your GPS, so nothing about the free tier stops you finishing a trip.

A Free account gets:

• The four open road classes
• Every basemap
• All ride-area and trail pins
• Tap to identify
• The Explore community heat map
• Garmin connect, import and send
• Standard GPX export

Free sets a cap on how many of these one account holds, so the limit is on volume rather than on what the tools do:

• Imported routes: 25 in the library, counting both the files you import and the routes you save from another rider
• Built routes: 10 that you draw and save yourself
• Collections: 3
• Device sends: 5 sends to a Garmin

No more than 3 of those 25 library items may be routes saved from another rider's page, because saves from other riders carry a number of their own.

These are lifetime totals rather than monthly allowances, so a number does not come back at the start of a month. One send counts as one send however many files it writes, which means a collection of twelve routes sent in a single action spends one of the five.

When you reach a limit#

When you reach one of these numbers the action stops and a short message names the limit, with a See Pro plans button beside it. Saving a route says the saved-routes limit is reached, and making a collection says the collections limit is reached. Importing says the library limit is reached, and sending to a Garmin says the device send limit is reached.

Nothing you already hold is touched, because a number is checked only when you make something new. INVIA sets these numbers and can change them, so the figures above are the ones Free carries today and the message on screen names the limit you reached.

Pro removes all four limits, so you keep importing, building, collecting and sending with nothing counting down.

What the trial adds#

The trial is Pro, which means every Pro feature is switched on from the day you sign up. Pro adds:

• Singletrack and ATV trail
• The Forest Service roads that were never published
• Land boundaries
• The Garmin map builder
• The device management panels
• The library power tools
• No limit on imported routes, built routes, collections or device sends

When the trial ends#

The trial is granted once, at sign-up. It never renews. Because it does not renew, the end date on your Profile is the date the Pro features stop.

Your Profile shows a Pro trial card while the trial runs, so you can see how much time is left without working it out yourself. The card gives the days left, the line Your trial ends {date}. Keep single track after it does. and an Upgrade to Pro button.

After the end date the account is Free.

Your routes, rides, collections and waypoints stay exactly as they were. They are all still listed. Nothing you built is removed from the account, because the trial decides which features are switched on rather than what the account holds.

These Pro features stop on the end date:

• Singletrack and ATV trail
• The Forest Service roads that were never published
• Land boundaries
• The Garmin map builder
• The device management panels
• The library power tools

The Free limits on imported routes, built routes, collections and device sends apply again, which is the same cap a Free account has from the start.

If you are already over a Free limit#

An account that finishes the trial holding more than a Free number keeps all of it. Nothing is removed, hidden or locked, because a limit is checked only at the moment you make something new. Every route, ride and collection stays listed, and you open, edit, rename, move and export them as before. Saving a change back to a route you already own is not counted either, because only a route that is new to the account counts.

What stops is adding more: the next new saved route, new collection or new import is refused with the limit message until you are under the number again or on Pro. Sending to a Garmin is counted on its own rather than against how many routes you hold, so an account over the route number can still send until its free sends are gone.

The Subscription card afterwards#

The card does not move, so the way to upgrade is in the same place on your Profile before and after the end date. Where the card read Pro trial it reads Free, and the line under the name becomes Single track, offline maps, and live tracking are Pro.

The Upgrade to Pro button stays on the card with the starting price under it, From $5.00 / month, billed annually. Account settings lists the plan as Free with no price beside it, because a Free account is not billed.

To keep the Pro features, choose Upgrade to Pro on the Pro trial card. The button sits on that card next to the days left, so you do not have to go looking for it.

Which browser you need#

Chrome and Edge are the only browsers that let a web page talk to a USB device. Sending a route to a device does not work in other browsers. The rest of INVIA still works in any browser, including standard GPX export, so you can plan anywhere and do the send from a computer running Chrome or Edge.
