Accounts, signing in, onboarding, browsers and the nav bar: what to know before the first route.
This section takes you from the landing page to your first route. Read the four pages in order, because each one assumes the one before it.
What you are signing up for#
INVIA is route planning and navigation designed with motorcycles in mind, which is why the road classification, the routing and the device support all start from a bike.
Every account opens with 14 days of Pro, and no card is required, so you can build routes and send them to a Garmin before you decide whether to pay. When the 14 days end the account continues as Free, and nothing you built is deleted, so your routes, rides, collections and waypoints are all still listed. What INVIA is. Accounts and the Pro trial.
Getting in#
Sign in to use INVIA. You cannot open INVIA without signing in, so the landing page is all you see until you do.
Every button on the landing page opens the same sheet, which offers three ways in:
- Continue with Apple
- Continue with Google
- Continue with email, which emails you a six-digit code
A new email address creates the account on first sign-in, so there is no separate sign-up screen to find. New accounts do not set a password, because the emailed code, Apple or Google is the way in. Signing in.

Chrome and Edge are the only browsers that let a web page talk to a USB device, which is why the Device page asks for one of them. Every other tab works normally in Safari and Firefox.
Miles or kilometres is a display choice on the Profile tab, under Units. INVIA stores everything in imperial, so switching to Metric changes what you see rather than what is saved, and you can switch back at any time. Browsers, units and the nav bar.
The nav bar#
The nav bar sits above every screen, and the manual follows its nine tabs in the order they appear: Home, Collections, Plan, Explore, Events, Friends, Maps, Device and Profile.
A tab you do not have access to is dropped from the bar. It is not greyed out, so a missing tab is not a fault on the page.
Events and Friends are shown only to accounts in those betas, so a bar with fewer than nine tabs is normal. Every tab you can see works as listed.
On a narrow window the bar collapses to a menu button. Your tabs are still there, inside the menu, so open the menu button to reach one or widen the window to bring the bar back.
Sign Out is on the Profile tab, next to Edit Profile, because the nav bar carries no account menu of its own.
