The card

Routes and rides share one card. One layout covers both, so you learn it once and read every item on Home the same way. Press the card body to open the item page.

A card carries these parts in the same order every time, so the part you want sits in the same place on every card.

Visibility and sharing.

An item set to Friends#

Friends means the riders you are friends with inside INVIA, so the request has to have been accepted, and it counts whichever of you sent it. Friends is not a halfway public state, which means the item stays off Explore and its link does not open for anyone you send it to. A Friends route is visible to your accepted friends inside the app and to nobody else. Blocking a rider ends the friendship, which means that rider stops seeing your Friends items.

An item you have not rated#

Class chips report the rating you gave an item, so an item you have not rated yet has nothing for them to show. The card shows no difficulty chip and no surface chip. Every other part of the card is unchanged, which means the thumbnail, meta and action row all behave as usual.

To put the chips on the card:

1. Press the card body to open the item page.
2. Rate the item there.
3. Return to Home. The chips are on the card.

Actions#

Four controls sit at the bottom of the card, so you can download, share and send an item without opening it first.

GPX and Send to Device sit on every card for an item you own, whether that item is a route or a ride. Share is the only control that changes with the kind of item, because a ride is shared from its own page instead.

The fourth control is the card menu ⋯: Add to Collection, Add Tag, Delete. Those three change how an item is filed or whether it exists at all, which is why they sit behind a menu rather than out on the card.

No GPX button on the card#

INVIA hides the download on a route or ride you saved from another rider, because the file belongs to the rider who built it. The card has no GPX button. The item is listed under Community Imports in the sidebar, so you can see which items came from another rider.

Send to Device works on the item. The card body still opens the item page and the item stays in your library with its usual card, so the only thing missing is the file download. Send the item to your Garmin instead of downloading it, so the route still reaches the device you ride with.

The rule reads the same way on a ride card, because it follows who owns the item rather than whether the item is a route or a ride. A ride you recorded carries GPX, and a ride you saved from another rider does not.

Pressing Share on a route#

Share changes the route's visibility before it opens the share sheet, so that whoever you send the link to can open it.

The share sheet opens and the route appears on Explore, so it is public to every rider, not only to the person you send the link to. The visibility pill on the card reads Public.

To take the route back off Explore, press the visibility pill until it reads Private.

A link you have already sent stops opening once the route is Private again, because the link is the route's address rather than a pass that works on its own. Whoever opens it gets a page reading Route not found or is private, and a ride behaves the same way with Ride not found or is private. Set the item back to Public and that same link opens again, which means a link is never cancelled and never replaced.

No Share button on a ride card#

Sharing a ride starts on the item page rather than on the card. A ride card has no Share button. It still carries GPX, Send to Device and ⋯, so the only action that moves is sharing.

To share a ride:

1. Press the ride card body to open the item page.
2. Press Share there.

Pressing the send action with no Garmin connected#

The button reads Queue + connect to send when no Garmin is connected, and INVIA holds the send until one is, so pressing it early costs you nothing.

A toast reads Queued, connect your Garmin to send "{name}", and the Device page shows {name} queued, connect your Garmin to send it with a Send now button.

The route is still in your INVIA library. The card is unchanged, because queueing a send records what to send next rather than moving the route anywhere.

To finish the send:

1. Connect the Garmin on the Device tab.
2. Answer Send "{name}" now? when it appears.

Sending in depth.

Add to Collection and Add Tag#

Each of the two opens a small panel over the library rather than a new page, so the item is filed and you are back on Home without losing your place in the grid.

Add to Collection lists your collections, each with its cover and the number of items in it, and New Collection sits at the bottom. Press a collection and the panel closes, a toast reads Added 1 item to "{name}", and that collection's name is on the card.

Add Tag opens the matching panel, headed Apply Tag, which lists your tags with the number of items on each and New Tag at the bottom. Press a tag and the panel closes, a toast reads Tagged with "#{name}", and the tag is on the card.

Typing a name under New Collection or New Tag creates it and files the item at the same time, so you do not have to create the collection first. A new collection confirms with Created "{name}" · added 1 item, and a new tag confirms that the item was tagged.

Delete on the card menu#

A delete is permanent, so read the confirmation before you press it.

1. Press ⋯.
2. Press Delete.
3. Read the confirmation. It reads This can't be undone.
4. Confirm.

Before the item goes, INVIA sweeps its named waypoints into any of your collections that hold it, so the places you marked stay in your library after the route is gone.

The card is no longer in the Home grid and the item is no longer under Routes or Rides. Its named waypoints are still listed in each collection that held it. Every collection that held the item still opens, with the swept waypoints inside.

A delete cannot be undone, so to get the route back you build it again in the builder or import the file again.
