Home

Everything you build or import lands in Home, so you never have to remember which part of INVIA a route went into. Every route, ride, collection, tag and waypoint is here. Read the five pages in order, because each one goes deeper into the part of Home that the page before it introduced.

Home is a sidebar on the left and a card grid on the right. Clicking a section in the sidebar filters the grid beside it, so you can cut the whole library down to one group without typing anything into search. Home overview.

The numbers at the top#

Four cells sit above the grid: Lifetime, This year, This month and This Week. They count your own riding, and the sample rides that came with your account are left out of all four. The four cells can therefore read lower than the number of ride cards in the grid. The sample rides are still in your library, and deleting one takes it out of the grid without moving the four cells, because they never counted it.

The sidebar#

The sidebar files your library into sections, so you can reach a whole group of items without naming any of them.

• Routes and Rides: a count and a list, each row carrying a color dot, the name and the distance so you can tell two similar routes apart.
• Collections: create one inline, rename it, delete it, or expand it to its members and their waypoints.
• Community Imports: routes and rides you saved from other riders, kept apart from your own work so you always know what is yours to export.
• Waypoints: Open waypoint map, which lists your pins on their own map instead of under the routes that carry them.
• All: rides and routes in one grid, for when you are not sure whether the thing you want was recorded or planned.
• Organize Library (Pro): fills in the region for any item that lacks one, so region filters cover the whole library.
• Tags: create, rename and delete the labels you put on items yourself.
• Smart Files (Pro): Region, Year, Ride type, Surface and Difficulty, which narrow together rather than replace one another.

Sidebar sections in depth.

Community Imports appears once you have saved something from another rider, so a sidebar without that section means you have saved nothing from another rider yet rather than something being broken. A route or ride you saved from another rider is filed there rather than under Routes or Rides. It is still in the All list and still a card in the grid, so nothing about it is hidden from you.

Finding one item#

Search library... searches by name, so typing part of a name is the quickest way to an item you already know. Sort the grid by Date, Recently imported, Name or Distance, and the first two group the cards by month with a This Week group on top.

Select turns on bulk actions, so you can act on many items at once rather than opening each card. The actions are GPX, Device, Add to Collection, Tag, Remove and Delete. Remove shows only while you are inside a collection, because it takes an item out of that collection rather than deleting it, so open the collection first and then select the items.

Tags and Smart Files#

Tags are labels you apply yourself, and Smart Files are filters that read what an item already is, which is why the two narrow the library in different ways. A tag goes on a single route or ride, so collections cannot be tagged. Clicking a tag in the sidebar leaves only the items carrying it on screen, and clicking the same tag again brings the rest back.

Smart Files stacks five filters, Region, Year, Ride type, Surface and Difficulty, and they combine with AND so an item has to match every one you set. They index the whole library rather than only the cards on screen, which means a filter reaches items you have not scrolled to. Clear drops all five at once.

An account without Pro reads Smart Files filters are a Pro feature. in place of the filters. Tags keep working, so you can click a tag in the sidebar to narrow the library instead. Tags and Smart Files.

The card and the item page#

Every route and ride uses the same card, which carries enough to tell one from another without opening it.

• A thumbnail of the line.
• A visibility pill reading Private, Friends or Public. Press it to cycle through the three.
• A Ride or Route badge, the name and a rename pencil.
• Distance and date, difficulty and surface chips, the collection the item lives in, and its tags.

The card carries GPX and Send to Device, plus Share on route cards, while the card menu ⋯ holds Add to Collection, Add Tag and Delete. The everyday actions are on the card, so you open the item page when you want the full view. A ride card has no Share button, so press the ride card body and use Share on the item page instead. The item page is the full view, where the map, the elevation profile, the numbers and the community sit together. The header row holds a back button naming the list you came from, Pin, and either Edit in Builder on your own item or Import to Library on another rider's. Below that are the stats, the community panel, your own rating, the waypoint list, the tags and the collections the item belongs to. The action row holds Share, Make Public or Make Private, Export GPX, Directional arrows, the device button and Delete. The item page in depth.

Deleting#

Every delete confirms with This can't be undone, because no step afterwards brings the item back.

Deleting a route or ride takes its card out of the grid and out of Routes or Rides. Before it goes, INVIA moves its named waypoints into any of your collections that held it, so a place you marked outlives the route that carried it. Those waypoints are still listed in each of those collections, and every one of those collections still opens.

Deleting a collection takes away the grouping rather than the items, so the routes, rides and waypoints inside it are back in your library as cards under Routes and Rides. To put the same items together again, create a collection in the sidebar and use Add to Collection on the ones you want in it.

A delete cannot be undone, so export the GPX file or send the route to your Garmin before you confirm, if you want to keep a copy.
